Book ReviewAbout a year ago, Chi made a limited edition zine (I’m calling it a book) that got sold out within a week. I’m a happy owner of the numbered edition 21/50. Her work was published in an eighteen-page perfect-bound booklet wrapped in a folded cover. Printed in full colour on coated bright-white paper stock, weighing around 40lb; the cover is probably 60lb.— Dmitri.
8 Technical Reasons to Shoot Black and White FilmBlack and white photographs can help focus viewers’ attention, emphasize shapes over colours, remove the complexities of colour management — particularly in high-contrast scenes and in skin tones, and create associative effects with a time period or genre of photography.— Dmitri.

Polaroid Month, Fujifilm Price Hike, Bit Rot, and an Editor’s EnquiryThis month, both Polaroid and Fujifilm announced new cameras, with the former shipping a new instant format and the latter following up with a price hike on emulsions.— Dmitri.
The Best Printer for Making Monochrome Zines at HomeI’ve been looking for a quality laser printer for over a week, shuffling through hundreds of options in hopes of finding something that could produce sharp photographs cheaply on regular (or fancy) printer paper. Unfortunately, most options out there seemed to be expensive on the cartridges, electricity, or subpar when it came to the resolution.— Dmitri.
Magazine ReviewI would’ve gladly paid for a magazine like that, but Sebastian was kind enough to send me a review copy of Auslöser. Having received it, I immediately fell in love. When it comes to print, design and material — choices matter; I think that Auslöser made good ones.— Dmitri.
Magazine ReviewAnalog Forever is an annual magazine that collects works, stories, and interviews of select film photographers. It is a well-put-together, superbly designed, and meticulously curated publication that undoubtedly gives film photography a good name. The magazine is fairly priced at $30 for around 150 pages of quality colour print though the shipping, being $20 to Canada, adds a bit of a strain on the wallet.— Dmitri.

New/Discontinued Film, 2 New Cameras + School, New Enlarger, and WTF’s NFT?I am grateful to see film photography survive, even flourish a year into this pandemic. With the lockdowns still largely in effect, Street Candy delivers its new monochrome film stock — MTN100, Intrepid launches a Kickstarter campaign for its colour enlarger, Film Ferrania “confirms its intention” to release P30 in the 127 format, Harman announces a new “reusable” camera, and Brooklyn Camera promises an instant film processor.— Dmitri, Dominik Oczkowski, and Intrepid +2.
