I’m the founder/tech support/author at Analog.Cafe.
I’ve been working on this website since 2017 with the goal of making it the nicest film photography resource on the open web.
To make it as nice as it needs to be, I don’t show ads. Not only are they distracting, they can be dangerous, which I can not allow on this privacy-friendly space.
Countless hours were spent optimizing code and design to make the articles load fast and read well on screens of all sizes. I even built in web apps to help keep track of film across cameras, keep tabs on film prices, and a couple of games you can play.
But those features and the hundreds of articles with high-res photos have to live somewhere — and the rent isn’t cheap. This website’s traffic has doubled many times over since its launch, making it even more expensive to host today.

To make it an even fairer exchange, I designed GOLD memberships with special features like 4K image resolution so you can examine film grain, exclusive web apps, and premium content for all monthly supporters.
It’s like Patreon but without a corporate middleman and a better experience for all visitors — supporters or not.
Analog.Cafe will remain free for anyone looking for essential film knowledge, quality camera reviews, or to connect with other like-minded photographers.
