Here’s a YouTube short of me unboxing my Minolta P’s from Japan last month and taking a few shots with it. It also shows what the negatives exposed with this camera look like:

Congrats! These cameras surely feel nice in hand.

Recently got my hands on a Big Mini, im excited to try this out. Konica really knows how to make premium casing, because the aluminium feels soft and nice to touch. Probably going to put in an expired roll of BW film

I have been fascinated with photography since childhood. I have owned several cameras since then and have been enjoying both analog and digital formats to date. However, I do not have any instant camera so I do not have any photos to share in the said format. However, I must say I am very fascinated with taking images of everyday things around me. Sometimes I dream of creating interesting photographs and here I share one of them.

I don’t have a instant photo to show but here’s one of my first ever astrophotography shots! I know it’s not the best but it holds a special place in my heart.

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

From a small series of photograms I made at the start of lockdown (2020)

I remember this one, Nice!

I-Type film is identical to Polaroid 600 film. Their batches vary in lift-ability, I usually have best luck with black and white film (either I-Type/600 or SX-70).

Here’s an emulsion lift tripytch I made earlier this month of a local decorative locomotive! Related question about the I-Type film: is it lift-friendly?

Fixed!

Thanks for the note! Fascinating, I’ll do a bit more research and correct the article shortly. Really appreciate the input.

Re: XA, I couldn’t get used to the “touch” shutter button no matter how much I wanted to like that camera, unfortunately. I also had bad luck with the rangefinder patch. Which is why I’m a bit jealous it worked out for you. Maybe I’ll give it another try someday. 🤔

Cheers,

Turned out perfectly! DoF is one of my favourite optic properties, there’s so much that can be done with it and so much to learn also. ❤️

I took this picture a few years ago. I had just learned about depth of field and I was trying to take a picture of our cat, but he kept moving until he was partially behind the flower. Thanks to understanding the DoF concept I know if I took the picture he would still be sharp and the flowers wouldn’t distract too much because they would not be sharp, giving this result. It’s one of my favourite instant pictures.

Hi Aleeyah, I can’t change the game, but I hear you.

I’ve got another giveaway coming up soon, and I won’t ask for any photo submissions. You’ll be able to participate then (though it will still be a draw).

all my life i have wanted a Polaroid camera……..this will be an amazing opportunity….I am a 13 year old teenager with a love for photography

You’re absolutely right, Andy. Thanks for the note!

Thank you for your article with your thoughts on costs.

My problem with the costs is definitely due to active GAS syndrome :-)

But what the heck — after all it’s a hobby and that can cost something.

Best greetings from Switzerland

Andy

Some of the cameras I use daily are older than my parents and will surely outlive me. Incredible pieces of technology; can’t say that about many modern inventions.

Obtained a 250 land camera and a single shot of film. First time in over 25 years I’ve taken an instant shot, first time in probably 50 years the camera was used (if it was ever used). I’m surprised the camera even worked.
