Having shot a few more rolls and tried several experimental techniques (reversal and bleach bypass), I have new images and new knowledge to share in this review.
Harman Phoenix is a significant project for a factory known for making only black-and-white film products since the 1800s. It’s a radical departure from the traditional emulsions in how it’s made and how it’s used.
Now that there are rumours of another Harman emulsion update, this review can be a great overview to revisit and see where we are now in terms of the UK colour-negative film production in 2026.
The next update will likely include test shots and first impressions with the Azure Switch (analog.cafe/comments/ig3n) — although I will be getting this new product at the same time as everyone else.
